Toward an Interdisciplinary Engineering and Management of Complex IT-Intensive Organizational Systems: A Systems View

چکیده
An accelerated scientific, engineering, and industrial progress in information technologies has fostered the deployment of Complex Information Technology (highly dependent) Organizational Systems (CITOS). The benefits have been so strong that CITOS have proliferated in a variety of large and midsized organizations to support various generic intra-organizational processes and inter-organizational activities. But their systems engineering, management, and research complexity have been substantially raised in the last decade, and the CITOS realization is present-

On Models and Standards of Processes in SE, SwE and IT&S disciplines: Toward a Comparative Framework using the Systems Approach
The general aim of Systems Engineering (SE) and Software Engineering (SwE) is the definition, development and deployment of large-scale cost-effective and trustworthy integrated systems and software-intensive systems respectively. In pursuit of this aim, both disciplines have generated models and standards of processes to guide and control the engineering and managerial activities involved in t...

متن کاملOrganizational Influences on Interdisciplinary Interactions during Research and Design of Large-Scale Complex Engineered Systems
The design of large-scale complex engineered systems (LaCES) such as aircraft is inherently interdisciplinary where multiple engineering disciplines, drawing from a team of hundreds to thousands of engineers and scientists, are woven together throughout the research, development, and systems engineering processes to realize one system. Though research and development (R&D) is typically focused ...
